Humanities:This semester we will be going indepth and taking a closer look at what incareceration is. The last part of the project is going to be making an art piece that represents the aspect of incarceration my group would like to focus on.
My group would like to show how prison can take away a sane person's humanity. We would like to display that by creating a mask and making it half animal half human. The mask will alway our audience to try it on to allow them to feel as if they have lost their humanity. My groups artist statement tells a story about our piece, but doesn't give away the what it is. We would like our audience to experience it for themselves. Making an art piece that doesn't give itself away is not entirely easy. We had to think it throughly on how we would create this piece. |
Biology:Although the semester is not over, I have already grown as a student. I have learned how to annotate properly which is a skill I will no only use for this class, but for the rest of my school career. A goal I have this semester is to receive an A+.
Becoming a better annotater is not the only growth I've had, I've also become a better scientist. If I do not know something I will find it out and I will always ask "Why?". Being in Biology has also made me more skeptical about all the "facts" I hear. It might not be the end of the semester, but I have already noticed a significant improvement not only as a student, but also as a scientist. I am excited for what the rest of junior year has to offer. |
