What is this about? The idea we wanted to express in this mini art piece was how incarceration makes a person feel isolated and away from the world after incarceration. Our mini art piece addresses this idea because it has a man in the corner. The man in the corner is someone who has just been released from prison. Putting the man in a dark corner shows our audience how he is away from the light and world.
After we read the story about Daud, we immediately thought of the idea we wanted to express. My group believes that incarceration does not effect a person or the community in a positive way. I believe my group used cooperation a lot in this project because we barely knew each other and we had limited time to make something. Being under pressure forced us to work together and get to know each other. Another habit we used was perspective because we changed our entire opinion on incarceration. We had never looked at incarceration from an inmates perspective. Looking at incarceration from an inmate's perspective was really eye opening. I personally changed my opinion on the people in there. The last habit I believed we used was evidence, we used evidence because we showed the articles we used and took a picture of our art piece for our Digital Portfolio's. We also used the other habits, but I believe these were the most significant. |
